Use the AI Coach
Moved from the old guide.
AI Coach answers questions about your own trading from the data of your linked accounts. What it says is for information and reflection, never advice.
AI Coach Overview#
The AI Coach is your personal trading analyst. It has access to your stats, trade history, health scores, and performance data across all your connected accounts. It remembers what you have discussed in past conversations, so it builds context over time rather than starting from scratch each session.
The AI Coach provides analysis and educational insights based on your trading data. It is not a financial advisor and does not provide financial advice. All trading decisions are yours alone.
What is the AI Coach?#
The Coach is an AI-powered assistant built specifically for traders. Unlike a general chatbot, it can see your actual performance data: win rates, drawdowns, session performance, pair statistics, risk metrics, and health scores. It uses this data to give you personalized feedback rather than generic trading advice.
The Coach also has a memory system. When it notices a pattern in your trading or you tell it about a preference, it stores that for future conversations. Over weeks and months, the Coach becomes increasingly useful because it understands your trading style, goals, and recurring challenges.
How to Use It#
Getting started is straightforward. Open the AI Coach page, select which account you want to discuss (or keep it on "All Accounts" for a portfolio-level conversation), and type your question.
You can ask about specific trades, request analysis of your performance over a time period, get help identifying weaknesses, or discuss strategy adjustments. The Coach works best when you ask specific questions rather than vague ones. "Why did I lose money last week?" is better than "Help me trade better."
You do not need to explain your data to the Coach. It already has access to everything Oathra tracks. Just ask your question and let it pull the relevant numbers.
Chat & Conversations#
The Coach keeps a full history of your conversations. Each conversation is stored separately, so you can have ongoing threads about different topics without them getting mixed up.
Conversations#
The left sidebar shows all your past conversations, newest first. Each conversation has a title, a type badge, and a timestamp.
Conversation types are color-coded so you can quickly tell what triggered each one.
You can rename any conversation by clicking its title. This is helpful for organizing your history, for example renaming "New Chat" to "EURUSD Strategy Review" so you can find it later. You can also delete conversations you no longer need.
AI Models#
You can choose between AI models depending on the depth of analysis you need and how many credits you want to spend. The model selection is per-message, so you can switch mid-conversation.
Credits#
Every message you send to the Coach costs credits based on the model you choose.
A credit pays for tests, storage and the AI Coach. Monthly credits reset on the 1st and do not carry over. Credits you buy do not expire.
When you send a message, the system uses your monthly credits first. Credits you bought are only used after your monthly allowance is spent.
Suggested Prompts#
When you open a new conversation, the Coach shows four suggested prompts to help you get started. These are tailored to common questions traders ask.
The kinds of questions that work best with the Coach are specific and data-driven. Here are some examples:
- "What are my weakest pairs and should I stop trading them?"
- "Review my last trading session and tell me what I did well and what I should improve."
- "My drawdown is climbing. What is driving it and how can I stabilize?"
- "Compare my morning trades vs afternoon trades. Am I better at a specific time?"
Avoid very broad questions like "Am I a good trader?" The Coach will still answer, but you will get much more value from focused questions that target specific aspects of your performance.
Coach Memory#
The Coach has a persistent memory system that stores patterns, preferences, and insights it picks up from your conversations. This means the Coach gets smarter about your specific trading style the more you use it.
How Memory Works#
As you chat with the Coach, it identifies important information and saves it as memory entries. These persist across all future conversations, so you do not need to re-explain things. If you told the Coach three weeks ago that you only trade the London session, it will remember that next time you ask for advice.
Memory entries are created automatically during conversations. You do not need to do anything special. The Coach decides what is worth remembering based on relevance to your trading.
Memory Categories#
Each memory entry is categorized by its type.
Managing Memories#
You can view all stored memories by clicking the "Coach Memory" button on the AI Coach page. This opens a list of every memory entry, organized by category.
Each memory can be deleted individually if it is outdated or incorrect. For example, if the Coach remembered that you trade the Asian session but you have since switched to London, delete that memory and the Coach will stop using it.
If you want a completely fresh start, you can clear all coach history from your profile settings. This removes all memories and conversation history, letting you start over from scratch.
Deleting a memory does not affect past conversations. It only prevents the Coach from using that information in future responses.
Auto-Generated Insights#
The Coach does not just wait for you to ask questions. It also generates insights automatically when certain events happen. These appear as new conversations in your Coach history without you needing to start them.
Session End Recap#
After a trading session ends (detected automatically based on gaps in your trading activity), the Coach generates a summary of what happened during that session. It covers how many trades you took, your win rate, total P&L, and any notable patterns.
This is like having a trading coach review your session while it is still fresh. The recap often catches things you might not notice in the moment, like a gradual increase in position size as the session went on, or three losses in a row on the same pair.
Weekly Recap#
Every week, the Coach generates a summary of your trading performance for the past seven days. It compares the week to your recent averages, highlights improvements, and flags areas of concern.
The weekly recap is a good checkpoint to review over the weekend before your next trading week starts. It gives you a structured look at whether things are trending in the right direction.
Monthly Summary#
At the end of each month, the Coach produces a detailed summary covering your overall performance, win rate trends, drawdown history, best and worst pairs, and recommendations for the month ahead.
The monthly summary is more in-depth than the weekly recap. It looks at bigger picture trends and provides actionable recommendations. Think of it as your monthly trading report card.
Alert Context#
When a Smart Alert fires (drawdown threshold crossed, profit target hit, daily loss limit reached, etc.), the Coach automatically provides context about what triggered it and what you might want to do next.
For example, if your drawdown alert fires at 3%, the Coach might point out that your last three trades were all on GBPJPY and all were losses, suggesting you step away from that pair for the rest of the day.
Behavioral Alerts#
The system monitors your trading behavior in real time and flags patterns that typically lead to losses. When a behavioral pattern is detected, the Coach generates an insight explaining what it noticed.
Behavioral patterns the system watches for include:
- Revenge trading: Taking multiple trades in quick succession after a loss, usually with increasing size.
- Overtrading: Taking significantly more trades than your usual average for a session or day.
- Size escalation: Gradually increasing position sizes within a single session, often a sign of emotional trading.
- Loss streaks: Multiple consecutive losses that may signal a misread of market conditions.
- Session drift: Trading outside your usual session hours, which often correlates with lower performance.
Behavioral alerts are not criticisms. They are early warnings designed to help you catch bad habits before they cause real damage. The most successful traders are the ones who recognize these patterns and take a break when they appear.
