Link a prop firm profile
Moved from the old guide.
An account's prop firm profile, its risk rules and its trading schedule are set in the account's own settings. Guardian reads them to track your limits and to check each trade.
Prop Firm Settings#
These settings appear only when the account type is set to Prop Firm. They let you configure all the specifics of your funded account program so Oathra can track compliance automatically.
Guardian Profile#
The overall prop firm profile that governs this account. This links to the risk rules and determines which compliance checks are active.
Phase#
Which phase of the challenge or funded account you are currently in, such as Phase 1 Evaluation, Phase 2 Verification, or Funded. Different phases may have different rules.
Consistency Rule#
Some prop firms require that no single day accounts for more than a certain percentage of your total profit. When enabled, Oathra tracks this and warns you if a day is becoming too dominant.
Best Day Rule#
Related to the consistency rule. This tracks your single best trading day as a percentage of total profit. If it exceeds the firm's limit, you will receive an alert.
Payout Schedule#
How often payouts are available, such as bi-weekly or monthly. Shown in the account overview for reference.
Profit Split#
The percentage of profits you keep on each payout. Typically 80% to 90% for most prop firms. This is used when calculating your actual earnings from the account.
DST Handling#
How daylight saving time transitions are handled for session boundaries and reset times. This ensures your schedule stays correct when clocks change.
Challenge Dates#
The start and end dates of your challenge evaluation period. Used to track time remaining and to calculate whether you are on pace to meet the profit target within the deadline.
Feature Toggles#
Three toggles for specific prop firm rules: Copy Trading allowed, Hedging allowed, and EA allowed. These are informational and help you remember which strategies are permitted on this account.
Risk Rules#
Risk rules define the guardrails for your account. Oathra uses these to calculate your drawdown levels, trigger alerts, and power the compliance features.
Daily Drawdown %#
The maximum percentage your account can lose in a single day before triggering a daily drawdown alert. For prop firms, this is typically 5%. For personal accounts, set it to whatever daily loss limit you are comfortable with.
Max Drawdown %#
The overall maximum drawdown allowed on the account. If your account drops by this percentage from its starting balance (or high water mark, depending on settings), it triggers the max drawdown alert. Prop firms commonly set this at 10% or 12%.
Drawdown Basis#
Choose whether drawdown is measured from the starting balance or from the high water mark. Starting balance means the drawdown limit is fixed. High water mark means the limit moves up as your balance grows, which is how most prop firms calculate trailing drawdown.
High Water Mark Tracking#
When enabled, the system tracks the highest balance your account has reached. This is required for trailing drawdown calculations. The HWM updates automatically with every sync.
Max Risk Per Trade#
The maximum percentage of your account you should risk on any single trade. This is used by Trade Manager and by behavior alerts to flag trades where you risked too much.
Max Lots#
An absolute cap on position size. Any trade exceeding this lot size will trigger an alert. Some prop firms enforce maximum lot limits.
Trailing Drawdown#
Enable this for accounts where the drawdown limit trails upward with profit. When the balance reaches a new high, the maximum allowed loss floor moves up accordingly. This is the standard model for many funded account programs.
Quick Setup Templates#
Pre-configured templates that fill in the risk rules automatically based on popular prop firm programs. Available templates cover popular prop firm programs, and a Conservative preset for personal accounts. Select a template and all the fields populate instantly. You can still customize any field after applying a template.
Trading Schedule#
The schedule section controls when you are allowed to trade. Trades taken outside of your configured schedule can trigger behavior alerts.
Allowed Days#
Select which days of the week you plan to trade. Any trade opened on a day not in this list will be flagged as an off-schedule trade.
Allowed Sessions#
Select which trading sessions you plan to be active in: Sydney, Tokyo, London, or New York. Trades taken outside your selected sessions trigger alerts.
Reset Time and Timezone#
Set the time and timezone for your daily reset. This determines when "today" starts for the purposes of daily P&L, daily drawdown calculations, and daily trade counts. Typically set to midnight in your local timezone or your broker's server time.
Pre/Post News Buffer#
A time buffer in minutes before and after high-impact news events. Trades opened within this buffer window are flagged as news-adjacent. Useful for tracking whether you are following your rule to avoid trading around news.
Weekend Holding#
Whether you allow holding trades over the weekend. If disabled, any trade still open at market close on Friday will trigger an alert.
Custom Sessions#
Define your own trading windows if the standard four sessions do not match your schedule. Specify a start time, end time, and timezone for each custom session.
