Risk Disclosure

Effective date: December 31, 2025 · BacktestPro LLC

Important Warning

Trading foreign exchange, contracts for difference (CFDs), and other leveraged financial instruments carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. You should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite before trading. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss in excess of your deposited funds and therefore you should not speculate with capital you cannot afford to lose.

1

Nature of Trading Risk

Trading financial instruments (including but not limited to foreign exchange (forex), contracts for difference (CFDs), commodities, indices, and cryptocurrencies) involves substantial risk of loss. The value of financial instruments can fluctuate rapidly and unpredictably due to market conditions, economic events, geopolitical developments, and other factors beyond any individual's control or prediction.

A significant percentage of retail investors lose money when trading CFDs and forex. You should only trade with money that you can afford to lose entirely.

2

Leverage Risk

Amplified Losses

Leverage amplifies both profits and losses. Trading on leverage means that a relatively small market movement can result in a disproportionately large loss relative to your initial deposit. With 100:1 leverage, a 1% adverse movement results in a 100% loss of your margin.

Margin calls and stop-outs may occur when your account equity falls below the required margin level, resulting in the automatic closure of one or more positions.

3

Market Volatility

Extreme Volatility Events

Financial markets can experience extreme volatility during economic data releases, central bank announcements, geopolitical events, and periods of low liquidity (market open/close, holidays, overnight sessions). Slippage, gapping, and stop-loss failures are real risks.

Stop-loss orders do not guarantee execution at the specified price in all market conditions. Gapping (price jumps between periods) can result in losses beyond your predefined risk parameters.

4

CFD & Forex Specific Risks

Instrument-Specific Risks

CFDs and forex instruments are complex financial products traded over-the-counter (OTC). Additional risks include counterparty risk, overnight financing costs (swap charges), bid-ask spread costs, and currency risk if your account currency differs from the traded instrument.

  • Counterparty risk: CFDs are traded OTC with a broker as the counterparty.
  • Overnight financing costs: swap charges may erode profitability over time.
  • Spread costs: the bid-ask spread is an immediate cost on every trade.
  • Currency risk: exchange rate movements affect your P&L if currencies differ.
5

Prop Firm Challenge Risk

Prop Firm-Specific Risks

Challenge fees paid to prop firms are generally non-refundable. Funded accounts can be revoked for rule violations. Prop firms may become insolvent or exit the market. Payouts are not guaranteed. Oathra helps you monitor prop firm rules, but cannot prevent violations or guarantee funded account retention.

  • Challenge fees are generally non-refundable regardless of performance.
  • Funded accounts can be revoked for exceeding daily drawdown, max drawdown, or consistency limits.
  • Prop firm rules may change without notice.
  • Passing a challenge does not guarantee funded account terms match challenge terms.
6

Past Performance Disclaimer

Historical Data Is Not Predictive

Past trading performance displayed within Oathra is historical and is not indicative of future results. No trading strategy, system, or approach guarantees profitable results. A strategy that performed well historically may fail to perform in different market environments.

Performance metrics such as win rate, profit factor, and Sharpe ratio are calculated from historical data and may not reflect future conditions.

7

No Financial Advice

Oathra Is a Tool Only

Oathra is a trade journaling and analytics tool only. It does not provide financial advice, investment advice, trading signals, trading recommendations, or any form of financial services. All data, analytics, and metrics displayed are informational only, derived from your own historical trading data.

Nothing on the Oathra platform should be interpreted as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial instrument. If you require financial advice, please consult a qualified, regulated financial adviser in your jurisdiction.

The Oathra Oaths

In-Product Click-Wrap Acceptances

Inside the product, users are asked to take three distinct one-time oaths: The Oathra Oath (gating trade execution in Trade Manager), The Data & Metrics Oath (gating the first time a trading account is linked), and The AI Coach Oath(gating the first message to the AI Coach). Each acceptance is recorded as a timestamped audit row containing the user's typed legal name, the oath type and version, and a hash of the canonical oath text.

These oaths do not extend, replace, or limit the obligations described elsewhere in this Risk Disclosure or in the Terms of Service — they are in-product restatements of the same allocation of responsibility, asked at the moments those obligations matter most.

11.1 — The Oathra Oath (Trade Execution)

Required before any trade can fire from Trade Manager. By accepting it, the user affirms:

  • Capital is at risk on every position. Losses belong to the trader alone.
  • Oathra is a tool, not a broker, signal service, or financial adviser.
  • Market mechanics are not Oathra's responsibility. Slippage, gaps, broker stop-outs, and news outcomes are part of trading.
  • Software has bugs and servers can fail. A glitch coinciding with a losing trade does not transfer that loss to BacktestPro LLC (the operator of Oathra).
  • Third-party data may be incomplete. Prop firm rules, broker specs, and economic calendars are sourced from public information and may be out of date.
  • Trading decisions are the trader's alone. Oathra is not liable for any trade the user placed.

11.2 — The Data & Metrics Oath (Account Linking)

Required before the first trading account is linked. By accepting it, the user affirms:

  • Authorization to retrieve and store data. The user authorizes Oathra to retrieve, store, and process trading data from any broker accounts they link.
  • Expert Advisor & prop-firm permission. Account linking requires running Oathra's Expert Advisor (EA) on the user's MT5/MT4 terminal. The user is responsible for confirming that their broker — and, for challenge accounts, their prop firm — permits this EA. Some prop firms ban EAs entirely; running one in violation of firm terms can revoke a funded account, and Oathra cannot recover that account on the user's behalf.
  • Metrics are informational, not authoritative. Equity, P&L, drawdown, win rate — every number Oathra shows is computed from the user's own trade history.
  • Alerts and notifications can fail or be delayed. Users will not rely on them as a sole line of defense, especially for prop-firm rule breaches.
  • Software has bugs. If a metric looks wrong, users will cross-check against their broker terminal before acting on it.
  • Data privacy and control. Trading data is stored on Oathra's infrastructure and processed under the Privacy Policy. Users can export or delete their data from Settings at any time.
  • Credential responsibility. The user is responsible for the broker login or API access they share with Oathra.

Terminal connectivity is the user's responsibility.Oathra's data freshness depends on the user's MT5/MT4 terminal being open and connected to the internet. When the terminal is offline — closed laptop, disconnected VPS, ISP outage, broker downtime — the EA stops sending data and Oathra works from the last sync. Dashboard metrics, Smart Alerts, the AI Coach's answers, and Trade Manager Guardian checks all read from this same data layer; if the terminal is offline, these surfaces are operating on stale information. Users running prop-firm challenges in particular are responsible for ensuring continuous connectivity so the Guardian engine receives current account state.

11.3 — The AI Coach Oath (AI Interaction)

Required before the user's first message to the in-product AI Coach. The AI Coach is gated behind two preconditions: (a) at least one linked trading account, since the AI reads account data to answer, and (b) acceptance of this oath. Without both, the AI Coach surface refuses to send messages. By accepting it, the user affirms:

  • AI access to linked data. The AI Coach can read all linked trading data — equity, P&L, trades, drawdown, prop-firm rules, journal entries — to answer the user's questions.
  • Information only, never advice. The AI Coach is for information and reflection only. It is not a financial adviser, broker, or signal service.
  • Generated text, not orders. Anything the AI says is generated text. It is not investment advice, a trade recommendation, or a binding instruction.
  • AI fallibility. AI models can be wrong, hallucinate numbers, miss context, or repeat outdated information.
  • Verification before action. The user will verify any number, prop-firm rule, or claim against their broker terminal or the firm's own page before acting on it.
  • Decision responsibility. Decisions are the user's alone. Losses arising from acting on AI Coach output belong to the user, not to BacktestPro LLC or to the underlying model providers.

Third-party model providers. The AI Coach is powered by large language models operated by third parties (such as Anthropic and OpenAI, depending on the model the user selects in-product). When a message is sent, the user's prompt and the relevant linked-account context are forwarded to the chosen provider for inference. These providers process the data under their own privacy and retention policies. Oathra does not train models on user data. The selected model is shown in the AI Coach interface; users who object to a particular provider can choose a different model or refrain from using the feature.

Coach Memory. The AI Coach maintains long-running observations about the user's trading patterns, psychology, and behavior across conversations — referred to in-product as "Memories". Memories let the Coach maintain continuity between sessions but mean a persistent behavioural profile is being kept on the user's behalf. Users can review every stored memory and delete individual entries — or clear the entire memory store — from the AI Coach interface or from Settings → AI Coach.

Data freshness depends on terminal connectivity. The AI Coach answers from the data layer described in §11.2; when the user's MT5/MT4 terminal is offline, the Coach is reasoning from stale account state. Users should treat AI answers about "current" positions or balances accordingly.

Accepting any of these oaths does not waive any consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. Users may revoke their oaths at any time from Settings → Legal & Support; revocation re-enables the relevant in-product prompt. Past acceptance records remain in the audit trail for the duration of any applicable contract-claim limitation period.
